To interpret Computer Aided Design (CAD) schematics, build & fit BMS and Power plates, raise queries, liaise with colleagues, communicate effectively, maintain a clean & hygienic work station, modify, visit client sites, always adhere to Health & Safety procedures, test panels before dispatch, pack panels effectively for delivery.
Work to customers specifications, as directed by the Office, in a cost effective manner, ensuring high quality workmanship, promoting the high standards demanded by the business.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
Correctly use and maintain the tools of the trade including cutting tools, power tools, test equipment and measuring instruments. Install all types of commonly used wiring and wiring accessories. Locate and report faults in electrical wiring systems. Identify different types of cables and wires. Read and interpret simple electrical specifications, wiring and circuit diagrams and panel diagrams. Inspect and check electrical wiring systems. Use safety equipment and protective devices and equipment. Adhere and promote all aspects of safety as detailed in the Company Staff Handbook and Policies and Procedures. Correctly instruct, supervise and transfer skills to apprentices and semi-skilled workers assigned to them to ensure safety and quality of work.
Engineering calculations associated with current carrying capacity of cables, wires, fuses and other circuit protective devices. Single and three-phase circuits, earth circuits, insulating and conducting materials, switch fuses and isolators. Electrical wiring diagrams and symbols. Use of test equipment and measuring instruments. Basic workshop practice, engineering materials, conduit and wiring. Industrial hazards, safety and health precautions and environmental concerns. Installation practice and regulations and relevant codes of practice. Relevant ordinances and regulations
