We are looking for a Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer to join our Motorsport team who will ensure that all supplied components meet expectations with regards to Quality Assurance and delivery schedules.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prioritise and carry out supplier audit/quality system assessment. Evaluate the suppliers on their ability to meet our requirements in full.
  • Be responsible for key elements of supplier development as required throughout the manufacture/supply of parts.
  • Liaise closely with Purchasing and Suppliers in the prevention and resolution of non-conforming product.
  • Establish, maintain and report on external quality records.
  • Liaise closely with Engineering, supporting them on project delivery and control in line with the existing Business Operating Procedures.
  • Monitor and report on system compliance if applicable.
  • Improve the standard of the process, using information collected from the operations and applying problem-solving techniques.
  • Coordinate inspection and measurement of certain components as required. Dimensional inspection of sensitive and safely critical components to Prodrive Limited drawings and specifications. Visual and dimensional inspection of non-sensitive components to Prodrive Limited drawings and specifications as required.
  • Support Engineering in activities of reverse engineering of components utilising all key measurement equipment.
  • Quality / Delivery performance monitoring and management though monthly reviews and KPI's.

Who are we looking for?

Our ideal candidate will have a higher national certificate (HNC) or equivalent in an Engineering discipline, with previous experience in SQA roles & activities within the automotive sectors (experience in Motorsport is preferable). Computer literate with competency in the MS Office suite of programmes, you will have demonstrable knowledge of inspection instruments and techniques and a competent understanding of engineering drawings. Whilst not essential, certification such as Six Sigma, Auditor/Lead Auditor would be an advantage, along with auditor experience to IS9001, and environmental standards.
