Our globally established and highly recognised Client continues to be the market leader for the design, manufacture and supply of marine raft / life jacket / marine safety equipment used globally within the defence and marine sectors.
As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the design engineering process for a specialised product set. Your experience will be crucial in product innovation, ensuring products meet safety standards and commercial objectives. This role would require a strong understanding of Aerospace mechanical engineering and involvement helping develop junior engineers.
Key Responsibilities and accountabilities:
Provide design engineering expertise within contract terms or service level agreements wich included planning, coordinating and supervising major contracts
Identify and implement improvements to existing product designs, develop and deliver product roadmap changes and new product developments
Manage the knowledge management systems
Adress emerging design, quality, safety and operational issues
Oversee a portfolio of change projects, reporting progress to senior operational team
Experience, Qualifications and Skills
Mechanical Engineering experience within the aerospace industry
Experience with system-level integration, FEAs and strong mechanical skills
Background and knowledge in materials science
People management and supervisory experience
BSc/ MSc IN mechanical or aerospace engineering
Chartered engineer status
Experience in product safety
This role will be in support of highly specialised and qualified products supplied to a global market. Security Clearances may be required as this company operates in the defence sectors. Therefore, British Nationals/suitable nationalities can only be accepted.
