The role involves carrying out inspection of products to pre-determined standards in order to ensure that quality standards have been achieved. To report non-conformances and record inspection results.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
This role is the final inspection department in the quality checking process. This role is responsible for ensuring that the parts are compliant with the customer’s drawing and specification requirements.
Specific responsibilities include:-
Inspection Duties
•​Dimensional inspection of a range of products
•​Recording of results, both manually and electronically
•​Quality processes.
•​Sub contract inspection
•​FGS (Finished Goods Stock) Inspection
Inspection of customer returns, production problems (MRB process) and development trials
•​Inspection of in-process first off production parts
• Minor assembly work
•​Completion of First Article Inspection Reports
•​Visual inspection of all products
•​Basic mathematical calculations
•​Attending relevant training
•​Adhering to Health and Safety policies, procedure and processes
•​Keeping up to date with company and departmental information through the use of notice boards, email, databases and verbal communication
•​Maintaining a good level of housekeeping within the work area
•​Assisting in continuous improvement activities
The ideal candidate will have the following;
* A minimum of C level or equivalent at GSCE including maths, English and at least 1 science or technical subject
* Engineering qualification such as NVQ levels 2/3 is desirable but not essential
* Knowledge of manufacturing machining processes, and a demonstrable understanding of the implications of these on the finished products.
* Possess a demonstrable understanding of how to use specific measurement equipment and how to interpret the results.
* Possess well developed skills on the use of PC, including ERP, email, spreadsheets and databases
* Familiarity with use of basic and advanced measuring equipment
Desirable
* Understanding of engineering production processes.
