My client is a manufacturing business in Essex, and through expansion is now looking for an experienced Warehouse operative to join their thriving team.
You will be responsible for overseeing the efficient picking and packing a range of goods - a vital part of the supply chain process. As the picker lead you will be managing the processes and systems, appropriately and productivity targets are met.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Picking and packing product parts to assist the product build
* Liaising with the production team to support the build
* Plan, coordinate and monitor the receipt, order, assembly and dispatch of goods
* Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, making sure quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met
* Have a clear understanding of the company's policies and vision and how the warehouse contributes to these
* Coordinate the use of automated and computerised systems where necessary
* Keep stock control systems up to date and make sure inventories are accurate
* Plan future capacity requirements
* Motivate, organise and encourage teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met or exceeded
* Produce regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
* Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security
* Oversee the maintenance and operation of warehouse management systems and automated storage and retrieval systems
* Forklift truck loading (forklift experience essential)
* Covering assembly build on staff holidays
* General organising and tidying yard duties
Ideally you will have experience in the following areas;
* Working within a warehouse picker packer role previously
* Experience of stock control
* Supporting goods in - goods out
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Numeracy and an understanding of systems and reporting
* Planning and organising skills
* The ability to work as part of a team
* Analytical ability
* Initiative and decisiveness
* Enthusiasm
* Technical and IT skills
* Problem-solving skills and the ability to work on a tactical level
* The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
Full training will be given, so if you feel you can for fulfil the role but may not have all the experience, please do get in touch and apply
