About the Role:
We are seeking committed and experienced Teaching Assistants to work one-to-one with children who have SEN in mainstream primary schools. The children you will support have varying needs, including being non-verbal and experiencing sensory processing difficulties. Your role will be pivotal in helping these children reach their full potential and succeed academically and socially within the school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored one-to-one support to children with SEN, focusing on their individual needs.
Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Plans.
Use a variety of communication methods to support non-verbal children.
Implement strategies to assist children with sensory processing difficulties.
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for the children.
Monitor and record the child’s progress, providing regular feedback to parents and staff.
Requirements:
Proven experience working in SEN environments, particularly with children with similar needs.
A strong understanding of SEN, including strategies for supporting non-verbal children and those with sensory processing difficulties.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, resilience, and a genuine commitment to supporting children with SEN.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with school staff to create a supportive environment.
Relevant qualifications in education or child development (desirable but not essential).
