Who we are looking for

A Test Team Lead, who will be pivotal in coordinating and driving the efforts of the testing team, to ensure the timely and successful delivery for both internal and third-party applications.


The Business Systems Solutions (BSS) department is focused on delivering systems and solutions to the Business. The team utilises various technologies to provide custom built solutions and implement third party products and services. We support processes in driving effectiveness, efficiency, scalability and sustainability.


You will lead a team of Test Analysts and work closely with the Test Manager, development teams, Business Analysts, Solutions Architects and Project Managers to maintain high standards of quality. The focus of this role is on people management, process improvement, delivery and governance within the testing domain.


An integral part of your role will be to drive the development of a capable, motivated and delivery-focused testing team. You will foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the team and uphold the values of the Business in all testing activities.


This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.


Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, a related field, or the relevant commercial experience.
  • Proven experience in software testing and quality assurance, with a track record of leadership roles.
  • Strong understanding of testing methodologies, tools and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including problem-solving skills and communication.


Main Responsibilities

  • Understanding the Business and technical requirements of testing items allocated to the team.
  • Ensuring clear communication and coordination of testing activities, both within the team and with other departments.
  • Mentoring and conducting appraisals for team members and providing feedback to them, whilst assisting in their development and performance.
  • Escalating issues affecting delivery and quality to management in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining open and effective communication within the team and with external departments.
  • Building strong collaborative relationships with Technical Leads, Project and Programme Delivery and other departments to ensure shared ownership and delivery.
