What You’ll DonFor our Seals Site located in Aycliffe, we are looking for a

Design and Development Engineer

to join our team.nThis position has responsibility for the development and design of sealing systems for new and existing seal products for building sector.

Your main Responsibilities:nDesign solutions for new products development within the given framework of all on site development activities.nexpert assistance on thermoplastic extrusion. This includes promote the technology and performing specific project responsibilities.ntrials, mainly in extrusion, in support of customers and internal development works, creating prototypes, analyzing test data and document results in test reports.nstrong collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of innovation initiatives and product development process.nas project leader on new product development collaborating with cross-functional teams and following new product development from concept to production release.nup to date with advancements in material technology and industry trends and incorporating new technologies into the production process as appropriate. With the material choice proposed, able to meet our environmental, mechanical and sealing performance requirements.nproject meetings, define project deliverables, monitor timelines and resources whilst reporting and challenging deviations.nvalidate new designs, processes, and materials through testing, experimentation, and evaluation.nproduct functional analysis (based on standards) to translate customer specifications and internal requirements into clear product performance criteria.nwritten reports and make presentations to the internal team and customers.

Skills/Experiencesnor master’s degree or equivalent in polymer engineering, materials science, or a related fieldnunderstanding of polymer science and technology, with a focus on thermoplastic elastomers extrusion processes.nof 5 years’ experience in the plastics industry and time served in an Engineering disciplinencommunication skillsnAbility to support multiple projects to achieve desired goals.nProject Management, capacity to follow the innovative projects and new projects development request.nDemonstrate a spirit of innovation, a willingness to suggest and the ability to support the implementation of modifications of existing equipment and processes.nFlexibility in work assignments to accommodate group and personal goals.nProactive in learning about new and existing technologies.ndesign and prototyping skills, including experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software.nawareness of the environmental impact of design ideas.

Desired CharacteristicsnWorking knowledge of various sealing technologies.nDesign feasibility of Sealing parts like windows Primary Seal and Secondary Seal, door seal.nPerform root cause analyses on systems and processes.nCombination of a strong understanding of materials science and engineering principles with practical design and manufacturing experience.nproblem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues related to sealing performance and durability.nto Project Manage and coordinate a multi-disciplinary team.
