Job Overview:nWe are seeking a high-quality candidate to join our client's existing legal team of 4 to provide comprehensive legal support on a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues. The Commercial Lawyer will collaborate closely with the Head of Legal and other team members to deliver timely and high-quality legal advice to support their fast-paced business. The successful candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of responsibilities, including drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, advising on regulatory matters, and supporting special projects.

Key Responsibilities:nWork closely with the Head of Legal to provide a broad range of legal advice to the business.nIndependently manage the provision of timely and high-quality legal advice to internal stakeholders.nCollaborate with other members of the legal team, business divisions, and senior management to address legal and regulatory issues.nProvide general advice on commercial contracts and draft, review, and negotiate various agreements.nLiaise with internal and external specialist lawyers on areas such as Intellectual Property, Energy/utilities, and regulatory matters.nAssist the Corporate Governance and Compliance functions with ad hoc queries.nSupervise junior team members and cooperate with the wider legal team on regional/global projects.nDevelop new templates and procedures and provide legal training to the organization.nManage external legal advisors and control external spend.nAssist with the management of the legal budget.nProvide legal support for ad hoc matters, including third-party claims and litigation.nSupport the achievement of team objectives.nAbility to travel for business as required.

Qualifications Required:nFormal/Professional Education: Qualified solicitor/barrister/Legal Executive in the UK with 1-4 years’ post-qualification experience.

Experience and Qualities:nExperience in regional, national, or international commercial law firm and/or in-house legal team (some in-house experience preferred).nStrong drafting and negotiation skills.nExcellent analytical and communication skills.nAbility to balance customer expectations and commercial demands against legal and regulatory risks.nEnthusiastic and willing to continuously learn and improve.nComfortable working in an international environment with exposure to diverse backgrounds and cultures.nCapacity to manage a high workload and prioritize tasks effectively.nLeadership and management skills.nResilience and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.nFlexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.nGood project management and conflict management skills.nProficiency in standard Microsoft Office packages.nLanguage skills welcome, fluency in English (written and spoken) essential.
