As the Principal Engineering Manager EMEA (m/f/d) , you will be a key member of our central engineering team, providing strategic direction and advanced technical support to local operational teams across the EMEA region. You will manage and set the direction for a team of central engineering Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and scalability of our data center infrastructure. This role demands a combination of technical leadership, strategic vision, and hands-on expertise to drive innovation and operational excellence.

Your Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership - Help set the technical direction and strategy for data center operations and infrastructure development across the EMEA region
  • Team Management - Lead, mentor, and develop a team of central engineering SMEs, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
  • Technical Oversight - Provide subject matter expertise on all mechanical and electrical upgrades, strategic planning, data center design, commissioning, IST, energy efficiency, and EMEA M&E vendor management
  • Infrastructure Optimization - Drive the optimization and enhancement of data center infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance
  • Standardization - Be a part of a team that develop and implement standardized processes, procedures, and best practices across all data centers
  • Change Management - Will be a member of the change board, that approves all high-risk work carried out on our critical infrastructures
  • Asset replacement projects - Assist the in-life project team in ensuring successful delivery of technical operational projects ensuring delivery within scope, time, and budget
  • Collaboration - Work closely with local operational teams to align engineering initiatives with business objectives and operational needs
  • Efficiency - Review of technological developments and trends with respect to improved data center environmental efficiency and recommend improvements that will drive data center operating efficiency
  • Electrical & Mechanical Safety - In accordance with the current Electrical & Mechanical safety rules vet and approve Country Responsible Persons, maintaining high standard of in country capability

Your Profile

  • Educational Background - Engineering degree (higher certificate), higher qualifications with related professional experiences
  • Experience - Demonstrated experience working in mission critical environment within a large company (e.g. Data Centers, Engineering within the powerplant industry, critical services, investment banking, pharmaceutical, defense industry), IT/Telecoms industry preferred
  • Technical Expertise - Deep knowledge of data center technologies, including servers, networking, storage, and virtualization
  • Leadership Skills - Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing technical teams
  • Strategic Vision - Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to align technical initiatives with business goals
  • Problem-Solving - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex technical challenges
  • Project Management - Proven experience in being a part of and delivering large-scale engineering projects
  • Communication Skills - Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams. (Second European language written and verbal desirable)
  • Adaptability - Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and business environments
  • Certifications - Relevant certifications (e.g., CEng, ) and professional memberships are preferred
