Lead Data Engineer - Join a Dynamic Team


Are you ready to take the lead in shaping the future of data engineering, for a top organisation listed in the 'Best 100 Large Companies'?

As the Lead Data Engineer, you’ll provide technical leadership and steer the team to success on multiple Data solutions.

You’ll guide them in designing, developing, testing, and deploying top-notch data analytics solutions and services.


Up to £80,000 + 15% Bonus

Hybrid - 2 days in Swindon office / 3 days Remote


As the successful Lead Data Engineer you will have:


  • Azure Data Services experience
  • Proven Databricks experience
  • Azure DevOps Pipelines
  • SQL Server / TSQL
  • Microsoft BI skills to include: SSIS, SSRS
  • Data Modelling skills
  • Data Warehouse and Report Layer design
  • SQL/database querying skills
  • Synapse experience would be beneficial but not necessary
  • Strong commercial experience in data engineering with a proven track record of developing data solutions at the enterprise level
  • Previous experience in a Senior / Lead Data role and comfortable with autonomy



As the successful Lead Data Engineer you will:


  • Ensuring success of the migration from Synapse to Databricks
  • Provide technical leadership by staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends, helping the team develop innovative and effective solutions
  • Own the technical solutions
  • Mentor team members
  • Understand and translate user requirements into technical specifications
  • Design and implement data solutions
  • Write and test code
  • Debug and fix software defects
  • Maintain and update software
  • Collaborate with data engineers, trainers, and stakeholders
