One of the world's most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies, with over 50,000 employees worldwide, is looking to appoint a Fire Engineers (different levels available) to further develop their career within a forward-thinking multi-sector practice. This role involves working as part of a national team of design professionals delivering fire engineering design solutions across a wide variety of sectors, including Cities & Development, Commercial, Energy, Residential, and Transportation.
Preferred UK locations: Bristol, Epsom, London, or Derby. While the majority of the current Fire Engineering team is based in the Derby and London offices, there is an ambition to grow the teams in the North and South West, offering flexibility in the role's location.
Responsibilities:
Work across sectors including residential buildings, rail transportation, and new energy facilities.
Manage multiple engineering projects from inception to delivery, ensuring compliance with fire safety standards and codes.
Support the delivery of project work within time and cost budgets.
Stay current with regulations and legislation.
Develop and implement fire engineering solutions and strategies for projects.
Assess fire-related risks and collaborate to mitigate them where possible.
Review and comment on the quality of fire safety installations.
Undertake tenders for new work.
Prepare reports, participate in design team meetings, and liaise with client representatives as required.
Requirements:
Engineering degree, preferably in fire engineering, or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering (other backgrounds considered).
Strong record of successfully delivering fire safety projects, with experience in various sectors.
Experience with fire standards such as BS9999, NFPA 130, BS9992, and EN45545.
Customer and end-user centric approach, fostering this philosophy within the team.
Ability to work towards chartered fire engineer status.
Flexible approach to the working environment.
Willingness to travel is advantageous.
Beneficial: Fire modelling experience.
Good commercial awareness.
Clear and structured approach to report writing.
