The role:


We’re looking for an ambitious individual who is looking to be part of something monumental. We’re not just another clog in the corporate machine – we’re a close team driving real change in the renewable energy sector. As a Wind Turbine Technician, you won’t be just another number on a spreadsheet – you’ll be the forefront of innovation, making a tangible impact on the future of our planet.


What’s important to us is to find something who is willing to make their mark on the wind energy sector; someone who is looking to showcase their skills and creativity, which will shape the directions of our projects and push the boundaries as to what’s possible.


You will be responsible for:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on wind turbines to ensure optimal performance and minimise downtime
  • Inspect turbine components, including blades, nacelles, and towers, for any signs of damage or wear
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct root cause analysis to identify the underlying cause of equipment failures and implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with a team of technicians to complete scheduled maintenance tasks and respond to unscheduled repairs
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new wind turbines
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition


To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and aptitude for working with complex machinery
  • Minimum of 3 years experience on wind turbines in a technician capacity
  • Experience with Nordex Turbines is essential
  • Experience in building or repairing mechanical or electrical systems is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of electrical engineering principles and ability to read electrical schematics
  • Proficiency in using software programs such as Revit and SolidWorks for design and analysis purposes
  • Familiarity with carbonise systems and logic controllers used in wind turbine operations
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify equipment failures and implement effective solutions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Experience of being an Authorised Technician under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.


It would be desirable to have:

  • Full GWO, Working at Heights Medical.
  • Experience on Siemens and Vestas Turbines
  • Experience of being an Authorised Engineer under the Wind Turbine Safety Rules.
