About You

The ideal candidate has significant HR Generalist experience, particularly within small HR teams.

You will have a proven track record of partnering with businesses on a broad range of people-operations, including employee relations, performance management, change management, recruitment and selection, learning and development, employee engagement, and pay and reward.

Your in-depth and up-to-date knowledge of HR legislation and best practice ensures you understand legal risks and maintain regulatory compliance effectively. You will have excellent stakeholder and communication skills, both written and oral. You will have the ability to handle professional interactions adeptly and build strong relationships at all levels.

Finally, you will have substantial experience at managing challenging situations with discretion, tact, and diplomacy.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the delivery of a proactive and customer focused HR operations across the College, acting as the point of contact and subject matter expert on employment cases and the delivery of operational people projects.

This includes providing expert legal and best practice HR advice and guidance on recruitment, employee relations, performance management, learning and development, pay and reward, and all other HR-related policies and procedures.

This role also supports the Director of People and Operations to enable organisational and cultural development.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to all employees across the College and providing confidential and timely advice and guidance regarding their ER matters. This includes interpretation of College HR policies and procedures and providing legal advice and guidance in line with current HR legislation and guidelines.
  • Leading on change management across the College, ensuring it is carried out in line with the College policies and proactively mitigating risk(s) along the way.
  • Supporting the Director of People and Operations to deliver cultural and organisational development projects.
  • Providing support to Line Manager(s) in addressing performance, sickness absence and disciplinary issues; this includes providing guidance, advice and/or making recommendations and being the HR representation at such meetings, when needed.
  • Overseeing the management of the end-to-end recruitment process, through the management of the Recruitment and Onboarding Officer.
  • Overseeing HR operations, through the management of the People Advisor.
  • Overseeing and approving payroll and ensuring it is submitted to the Finance Team in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Producing monthly, quarterly and annual reports on key HR data.
