Due to the Security Vetting requirements, only UK Nationals can be considered for this role.
I am working with a leading Technology Company specialising in cloud solutions, seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer with expertise in both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
This role is intially a contract opportunity for 10 weeks with the possibility of extension for the right candidate.
You must be a UK national due to the nature of the tasking and to allow for security vetting if not already obtained.
Responsibilities:
* Design, deploy, and manage cloud environments on AWS and Azure platforms.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop cloud-based solutions that align with business requirements.
* Implement security measures and best practices to ensure data privacy and protection.
* Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure performance, availability, and scalability.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to cloud services and applications.
* Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing.
Essential Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
* Solid experience working as a Cloud Engineer, preferably in a complex, enterprise-level environment.
* Strong proficiency in both AWS and Azure platforms, including services such as EC2, S3, VPC, Lambda, RDS, Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, etc.
* Demonstrated expertise in cloud infrastructure architecture and design.
* In-depth knowledge of networking concepts, security protocols, and infrastructure components.
* Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
* Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform).
* Experience with containerisation technologies like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or equivalent.
* Experience with serverless computing, microservices architecture, and API gateway implementations.
* Knowledge of cloud cost management strategies and optimization techniques.
* Familiarity with hybrid cloud deployments and integration patterns.
* Experience with big data technologies and analytics tools in the cloud (e.g., AWS EMR, Azure HDInsight, Amazon Redshift, Azure Synapse Analytics).
* Understanding of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
