School Financial Advisor
365 People are currently looking for innovative and dynamic individuals with a working knowledge of schools financial management system, for example SIMS FMS, ACCESS etc with a clear understanding of school financial management processes, an enthusiasm and passion to enable schools to understand their school’s budget, meet statutory requirements and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction.
The successful candidate must have a 'can do' attitude, an ability to work on their own supporting a number of different school-based staff and to be an integrated member of the School Financial Advisor Team.
The ideal candidate must have experience within finance, be a good communicator and be able to work as a team.
You will be requested to visit schools and expense can be claimed from office base to the location. The role will require a full clean driving licence and access to a car to visit schools onsite and an Enhanced DBS certificate.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan, prepare & evaluate annual school budgets in accordance with the school’s development plan, through the provision of income & expenditure projections, using current information, legislation and historic spend patterns. To be able to project budgets for up to 5 years for longer term planning.
Responsible for the preparation of monthly detailed and complex financial reports & analysing data for the purpose of budget tracking for budget managers, headteachers/principals and for governors’ meetings. To attend meetings as requested to advise governing bodies with accurate information.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Finance Qualification Equivalent to NVQ Level 4
* Demonstrable Bookkeeping/Accounting experience
* Experience of working in a school office, preferably using the SIMS accounting package
* Evidence of a current working knowledge of computer operation using an accounting package
* Ability to maintain confidentiality Evidence of an ability to work effectively as part of a team
