Join us as a Wind Turbine Technician in Wind Power Service and Operations as part of our expanding teams in Scotland. Together with your colleagues, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing our currently supported Technologies/Platforms, positively contributing to our safety culture, and working with our engineering specialists to enhance wind farm performance.
Reporting to the Operational Project Manager, you will be expected to deliver maintenance services to Gamesa G5/Vestas V47 series turbine projects in accordance with manufacturer’s guidelines. Knowledge of other wind technologies will be a plus.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Undertake scheduled preventative maintenance and servicing, and complete the documentation according to the tasks
- Carry out corrective maintenance; fault finding, troubleshooting and repair on all turbine systems which will include mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assemblies, and complete the documentation according to the tasks
- Proactive repair or component replacement to prevent complete failure or system downtime ensuring the highest level of turbine availability
- Provide out of hours and weekend response to turbine breakdown
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety requirements including the WTSR
- Assist in providing solutions to the Technical Manager
Job Requirements
- Service Engineer with Gamesa G5/Vestas V47 background
- Troubleshooting and Fault Finding experience
- Computer skills; word processing, spreadsheets, email, management and reporting systems, including the use of diagnostic and troubleshooting tools
- Willing to work overtime on weekends, bank holidays and on short notice
- Participates in an on-call schedule
- Valid UK driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Good physical condition is required as medical examinations will be conducted
