About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

Our goal is to build a Google that looks like the world around us — and we want Googlers to stay and grow when they join us. As part of our efforts to build a Google for everyone, we build diversity, equity, and inclusion into our work and we aim to cultivate a sense of belonging throughout the company.

As a member of the Google's Data Center Compliance, Safety, & Risk Management Environmental Health and Safety (CSRM-EHS) team, you will be responsible for supporting new site acquisition and growth for EHS programs from initial due diligence to management system implementation, and environmental compliance programs. You'll play a critical part in ensuring all environmental issues are identified and addressed by working with a cross functional team of Google Data center departments and contractors. This role will also be responsible for creating accurate and coordinated timelines while ensuring compliance with established EHS standards and local regulations. You will also provide program leadership and oversight to new and critical EHS initiatives to continue to create and iterate our “Google-Great” EHS program.

Responsibilities
  • Identifies and evaluates operational environmental risks for impact to the business, starting from due diligence through campus planning and design phases; analyzes risk scenarios to determine their potential impact to the business and design/lead programs to mitigate those risks
  • Conducts assessments of existing EHS programs to ensure alignment with global GDC strategy, including analyzing environmental business risks and identifying efficiencies with a focus on soil and groundwater remediation, hazardous waste, water and wastewater, environmental permitting and compliance, solid waste/geotechnical, air emissions, environmental and human health risk assessment
  • Leads environmental permitting, investigations and assessments to support compliance with EMEA local and national regulations
  • Contribute to regional/global tracking of milestones and deliverables for environmental and regulatory compliance
  • Manages global portfolio of EHS initiatives & programs for all environmental initiatives & manages contractors and internal stakeholders
