Position: Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) System Designer / Senior Project Engineer

About the Role: 
Osiris Recruitment is working with a client to find an experienced GSHP System Designer / Senior Project Engineer to join their growing engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing innovative ground source heat pump systems and leading various engineering projects. You will collaborate closely with technical teams, clients, and external partners. This role offers remote working options and is ideal for someone with strong project management skills and technical expertise in the renewable energy sector.
 
Key Responsibilities: 
GSHP System Design: Collaborate with the technical team to design innovative ground source heat pump systems.
Project Leadership: Manage multiple projects from concept to completion, following industry-standard project phases.
Client Relationships: Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
Collaboration: Work closely with sales teams, external agencies, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery.
Process Improvement: Continuously enhance and develop project management processes.
Team Leadership: Take on a senior role, mentoring junior team members as needed.
Training & Development: Stay up to date with industry trends, participate in technical training, and support team skill development.  
Skills & Experience: 
GSHP Design Experience: Proven experience in designing ground source heat pump systems (experience with Gaia GLD software is a plus but not essential).
Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage complex engineering projects and deliver client-focused solutions.
Communication & Leadership: Strong communication skills, with experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading technical teams.
Time Management: Able to manage several projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Technical Knowledge: Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and renewable energy solutions.  
 
Qualifications: 
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) or equivalent industry experience.
A PhD in a relevant discipline is advantageous but not required.  
Remuneration and Benefits: 
Salary: Competitive and negotiable, based on experience.
Pension: Company pension scheme after the successful completion of a 3-month probationary period.
Holiday Entitlement: 25 days (with 3 to be taken during the Christmas period) plus bank holidays, with additional holidays accrued over time and the option to purchase extra leave.
Expenses & Mileage: Agreed expenses reimbursed monthly; mileage paid at £0.45 per mile.
Profit Share: Eligible for the company’s profit share scheme after the probationary period.  
Reporting Structure: 
The role reports directly to senior management, working within a matrix management structure.
