About Us:

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for assessing the correct product type for the client's application and the appropriate quality standards that apply. Analysing the production and material costs associated with manufacturing the finished product to produce a final cost to generate a profit and a cost-effective solution to the customer.
As a Manufacturing Cost Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in our product development and cost optimisation efforts. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyse data, and propose innovative solutions to enhance our processes and products. Your expertise will directly impact our bottom line and drive our competitive edge.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure all high-value projects and enquiries are logged onto the system and provide timely updates to keep everyone aware of business opportunities.
* Analyse new items with precision and share any inconsistencies and improvement recommendations to relevant employees to maintain accuracy and customer experience.
* Audit the enquiry data base for accuracy.
* Responsible for understanding the manufacturing capabilities of machinery
* External contact with customers about technical specifications
* Internally - All departmental communication from Commercial to shop floor team leaders (must be able to communicate with all manufacturing departments.)
Miscellaneous Information:
* Working directly under the Head of Technical & Innovations and as part of a dynamic team
* Order value range - a minimum value of £5000 - Any low value under £5000 is handled with an estimating system, any thing above £5k is considered high value, which would need a costings approach
Our Requirements:
* Good written and verbal communication skills
* A Mathematical and analytical mindset with strong spreadsheet skills
* Experience with costings and maintaining costing systems
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work methodically under pressure individually and as part of a team
* Ability to problem-solve, visualise solutions and make value added decisions.
* Previous manufacturing background preferably in a similar role
* A willingness to learn and grow within the business
