A well-established Food Manufacturing business with a reputation for innovation are seeking to appoint a Specifications Technologist to join a busy team within the Technical function.
Duties of this role will include:
* The generation and management of product specifications.
* Contact with customers to gain approval and specification updates.
* The maintenance of specifications to ensure they remain accurate and up-to-date, encompassing all specifications for raw materials and packaging used on site.
* Focus on customer specifications, and to a lesser degree supplier specifications.
* Update retailer technical portals with specification information.
* The creation and management of product labels ensuring legal standards.
* Involvement in the administration of the Supplier Approval Programme.
* The management and coordination of the Artwork approval system.
* Use knowledge of food safety legislation to ensure the business adheres to all regulations.
* Mitigate risks, ensure data is accurate around ingredients, traceability and packaging.
* Liaise with suppliers to ensure information relating to traceability and accreditations is accurate (Kosher, Halal, Organic, RSPO).
* Liaise with customers and support them with technical information on Specification matters.
* Support the Technical Manager with Audits on occasion.
For this role we are seeking an individual with proven experience in a similar role generating specifications for Retailers and other customer groups. Ref 3529
Salary £30,000 pa to £36,000 pa depending on level of Specifications writing experience
