Job Title: Junior to Mid-Level Commercial Lawyer (German Speaker)

Position Overview:

As a Junior to Mid-Level Commercial Lawyer, you will play a pivotal role in providing legal support and guidance across various aspects of our business operations. Reporting directly to the Head of Legal, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, mitigate risks, and drive the successful execution of commercial agreements and transactions.


Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including but not limited to, software licenses, SaaS agreements, service agreements, and partnership agreements.
  2. Conduct legal research and analysis on complex issues related to commercial transactions, intellectual property rights, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
  3. Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters pertaining to technology transactions, including licensing, intellectual property, and contractual rights.
  4. Assist in the development and implementation of company policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk.
  5. Collaborate with external legal counsel as necessary to address specialized legal matters and ensure the company's interests are protected.
  6. Support corporate governance matters, including board meetings, shareholder agreements, and corporate structuring initiatives.
  7. Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations, assess potential impact on the business, and propose proactive strategies to address legal risks.
  8. Provide legal training and guidance to internal teams on legal issues relevant to their respective functions.


Qualifications:

  1. Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 1-7 PQE years of experience practicing commercial law, preferably within a technology-focused environment.
  2. Fluency in both English and German is essential, with the ability to draft and negotiate legal documents in both languages effectively being useful.
  3. Strong understanding of commercial contract law, intellectual property rights, data protection regulations (including GDPR), and other relevant legal frameworks.
  4. Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.
  5. Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify legal risks and develop pragmatic solutions to address them.
  7. Demonstrated commitment to professional development and staying abreast of emerging legal trends and best practices.
  8. Bachelor's degree in Law or related field; additional qualifications such as an LL.M. or equivalent would be advantageous.
