Overview:nFinatal have been exclusively mandated by a global, PE backed events business, seeking a Group Financial Controller to run their core finance function. You must have extensive experience of contract accounting, and have worked in an international business.
Key Responsibilities:nResponsible for all financial control and technical accounting matters across the Group.nOversee financial operations and controls in different geographical locations to ensure consistency and compliance.nTake overall responsibility for the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.nManage cash flow and report at an operational level, including overseeing overseas purchasing and payables functions.nHandle asset financing relationships and calculations to support business investments and growth.nManage the financial covenant reporting to the primary lender, ensuring compliance and clear communication.nPrepare statutory accounts under IFRS and handle any local statutory reporting requirements.nResponsible for audit processes and act as the primary liaison with auditors, in conjunction with the CFO.nOversee monthly local payroll and liaise with overseas local payroll providers to ensure accurate and timely payments.nManage the AR/AP function and conduct regular reviews to maintain financial accuracy and efficiency.nEnsure all tax compliance and provide tax advice locally and internationally, in conjunction with external advisors.nProduce VAT returns and ensure compliance with VAT and HMRC matters, including CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).nManage the administration of Netsuite to support financial operations.nProduce forecasts and budgets in conjunction with the CFO and Head of Management Accounting.nSupport company secretarial and compliance matters in conjunction with local advisors.nManage and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.nLead and contribute to ad hoc project work as required to support business objectives.
Qualifications:nACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification, or equivalentnProven experience as a Financial Controller, ideally Group level in a PE-backed company.nExtensive exposure to consolidated accounting is essentialnYou must have experience in either an events, facilities management or design & build businessnStrong technical accounting skills and thorough knowledge of IFRS.nExperience managing financial operations in a global context.nExcellent leadership and team management skills.nPrior experience using Netsuite is a plus.nStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities.nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
