About the role.
We have an exciting opportunity to support the Packaging Development Managers to deliver packaging development activity across Group in response to multiple stakeholder briefs, that optimise sustainability, quality aesthetics and operational/supply chain efficiency & complexity and that ensure legislative and code of practice compliance.
Travel is expected to our UK sites where required based on business need.
Job Accountabilities
Leadership: Supports the Group Packaging team to effectively deliver the packaging activity to the highest standard, ensuring delivery of projects through critical path management.
Performance Management: Maintain internal and external KPI documents, trackers/databases for assigned project/retailer responsibility. Support Packaging Development Managers in the collation of presentations and documents.
Business Communication: Has effective internal working relationships across key functions to ensure the delivery of the Packaging activity in line with the guidance and direction provided.
Responding to Briefs: Accountable for assisting Packaging Development Managers in responding to briefs from various stakeholders through inputting into possible ideas and solutions and assisting with viable samples & origination through supplier contact, following the MEF process and an appreciation for customer requirements
Project & Stakeholder Management: Effective at supporting the management of multiple projects through relevant stages across a multi-site model, with time able to deputise for Packaging Development Manager in their role as project manager.
Expertise: Point of contact internally and externally for packaging expertise, may be asked to support meetings where packaging expertise required
Business Knowledge: Has a good understanding of the relevant site capabilities. Leverages opportunity through knowledge of Group capability.
Supply Base Relationships: Establish firm supplier relationships alongside our Procurement colleagues to enable the Packaging Development agenda
Project Implementation: Where directed by Packaging Development Manager provide support to site-based team post-handover (Process/Pack Tech) with implementation of new packaging
Performance Management : Maintain internal and external KPI documents and any databases for assigned project/retailer responsibility
Horizon Scanning: Keeps abreast of legislation changes, planned customer code of practice changes/mission statements that will have implications for packaging
Systems: Supports in the continued advancement of data management systems for packaging

To be a great Senior Packaging Technologist - Group you will be highly motivated with a sincere passion for all aspects of packaging.
You will have:
Excellent computer skills
Strong organisational and project administration skills
The ability to build strong and effective relationships.
A well-developed understanding of packaging within the Fresh Prepared Foods market You will be:
