This represents a meaningful reduction in national CO2 emissions, while protecting local jobs and supporting the region’s economy.Finally, we are anticipating the shift to zero-carbon storage technologies that will provide flexibility and stability in the energy system in the long term. As a company that holds on to a system wide view and responds at pace, we see opportunity in this complex and fast-changing ecosystem.The PositionWe are recruiting for a DCS/Control Technician – at Immingham Power Station, North Lincolnshire. Reporting to the E,C & I Team Leader and working alongside the DCS/Control Lead you will be responsible for all the DCS control system asset management.You will assist in the development and improvement strategies, implementing associated maintenance techniques. Manage control system developments. Provide control expertise toward plant/system/people development. Follow Control System procedures, policies and change management documentation. Technical DCS support for other technicians within the O&M team.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the maintenance work and tasks assigned to them via the planning process for all control systems.Promotes business ethics with high regard to Environmental and Safety factors with other Discipline leads and Operations Team.Responsible for the following control systems and equipment; Honeywell Experion Control System; Honeywell FSC system; GE Mark Ve; GE Mark Vie; Toshiba DEHC; Siemens S7 control systems.Provide design, construction support and startup on automation projects.Trouble shoots problems, fault find and engage technical resources as required.Provide support and expertise on control system software applications, hardware and software upgrades.Responsible for control system security and integrity through antivirus and service pack implementations and password management.Contact for all control systems tasks, breakdown and callouts.Responsible for gaining knowledge of new technologies and enhancements within the control system asset management and implementing where appropriate.The PersonSelf-starter with the ability to organise own workload and prioritise own focus areas depending on plant/business needs.Ability to assist and support colleagues and promote co-operation.Strong interpersonal / communication / presentation skills.Ability to handle multiple work projects running simultaneously as the business need arises.Ability to work as part of a small team and encourage collaborative working relationships.Aptitude for further business and technical training.Embraces change and ability to adapt self and others to new situations / working methodsFlexible approach applying his/her resource as dictated by the business needs.Educated to HNC / Degree Level.Skills, Knowledge and ExperienceControl Systems knowledge and competency on all types of DCS and PLC control systems on the site.Significant experience in industry working on DCS and control systems preferably a process industry Particular detailed knowledge of Honeywell Control system.High level of computer skillsExcellent organisation and time management skillsEffective Communicator and team playerThe ability to prioritize to meet business needs Good communicator and team player
