Finishing Manager
Location: Central London
The Role
We are currently looking for a Finishing Manager with proven experience within the MEP Construction Industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical & Public Health systems with excellent quality assurance skills.
This role requires a process-driven individual who can identify snagging and defective works during the installation phase and close out of a project. Must have the ability to manage the subcontractors to rectify defects/snagging identified and recorded during their quality assurance reviews of all systems throughout the contract duration.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the defect rectification process, ensuring prompt and efficient resolution of issues.
* Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to gather and assess defect reports, identifying priority areas and creating action plans.
* Coordinate and allocate resources to address defects, working closely with technicians, engineers, and subcontractors as needed.
* Monitor and track defect resolution progress, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
* Provide regular updates to clients and stakeholders regarding defect rectification progress and any challenges encountered.
* Conduct site visits and inspections to assess and evaluate defects, determining appropriate corrective actions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement effective aftercare programs, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term operational success.
* Act as a point of escalation for any complex or high-priority issues, working closely with relevant stakeholders to facilitate swift resolution.
* Manage and maintain accurate documentation throughout the defect rectification and aftercare processes.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Defect and Aftercare Project Manager or a similar role, preferably within the M&E or Construction Industry.
* Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and fabric systems, as well as their typical defects and remediation techniques.
* Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and prioritize multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive and results-oriented mindset.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
* Proficiency in using project management tools and software.
