About the role- English Teacher/Teacher of English - Lewisham
A good understanding of the national curriculum guidelines for English is essential.
Ability to motivate and inspire pupils so that they are excited about English as a subject and are willing to learn more about it.
Motivating pupils to realise their full potential is a genuine desire on the part of the teacher.
Ability to communicate effectively with pupils in order to engage them in the learning process.
The ability to plan and design effective lessons using a variety of teaching methods is a crucial part of being an effective teacher.
By creating an educational environment conducive to learning English, the teacher shows a dedication to his job and to the students.
Being able to remain calm in stressful situations is an important skill.
Ensure that the welfare of children is safeguarded at all times.

A successful candidate for this permanent English Teacher position is expected to have taught at Key Stages 3 - 4 and ideally at Key Stages 5. The ideal English Teacher/Teacher of English will be enthusiastic about the curriculum and eager to find new and improved ways to introduce topics that will spark student interests and inspire a love of the subject.
