Due to a bursting orderbook and continued, strategic expansion, my client who are a market leader in a variety of castings and machining services, are now on the search for a CNC Turner Setter/Operator to join them at their manufacturing facility in Surrey.
Having been established for over 80 years and now with the backing of a progressive group of castings and machining companies, this truly is an exciting time to join this growing, yet very secure organisation; housing over 40 machines; together with castings, design, assembly and testing facilities. Does this sound like the type of company that can offer you the secure prospects you are seeking?
Reporting into the Operations Manager, you will take ownership of setting, operating and running CNC lathes to produce components to meet the organisation’s quality standards. You will be responsible for some programming of editing functions, as well as the maintenance of the machinery and your working area.
The key responsibilities of your new role as CNC Turner are as follows:
* Producing accurate, high-quality components with maximum efficiency.
* Interpreting engineering drawings.
* Creating programmes and production methods for new parts.
* Competently setting and operating CNC machines.
* Undertaking any minor changes to programmes to produce quality components to drawing limits and customer requirements.
* Carrying out inspection, including first-off inspection, using gauges and measuring instruments.
* Assisting in the cleaning, organisation and maintenance of the shop floor work environment.
* Promoting and providing constant input into continuous improvement.
* Promoting a team environment.
* Complying with all policies, specifications and safety procedures.
My client is keen to hear from people with experience of setting, editing and operating CNC Turning machines. You will also be able to understand engineering drawings and instructions; as well as the use of measuring equipment.
In return, my client is offering a competitive hourly rate of £12-14, plus occasional overtime, with opportunities for further progression within the group being readily available for those who want it.
