Overview of a Housing Benefits Officer:
Pertemps have an exciting opportunity within Harrow Council for a self-driven and motivated Housing Benefits Officer to join an expanding team. The role of a Housing Benefits Officer has a competitive pay rate of £ 20.55 PAYE and £26.22 Umbrella PAYE per hour.
The Main Purpose of a Housing Benefits Officer:
Work with Access Harrow, Revenues, CAFT, Finance and Housing and External Partners including the Department for Work and Pensions and where appropriate the Business Transformation Partner to ensure delivery and performance targets are met.
You will work with Housing Benefit officer and the main Liaison officer for Harrow Council's housing department, taking on their queries and escalations of Housing Benefit claims for their tenants
Determine initial entitlement/contribution for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support including more complex calculations in respect of self employed, students, etc.
Responsibility for undertaking any revision to entitlement/contribution for Housing Benefit, Council Tax Support including more complex calculations in respect of self-employed, students, etc
About you, the successful Housing Benefits Officer will have:
You will need to work on your own initiative in a highly pressurised environment with ever changing and conflicting priorities
Good understanding of the current and future technological developments and their potential application within and for the
In depth knowledge of the Housing and Council Tax Benefits legislation
Must have extensive recent experience in assessing all type of Housing benefit claims
