We have an exciting opportunity at our Openshaw and Wythenshawe Campuses to join us as a Learning Coach on a permanent, full time (35 hours per week), term time only basis.
What we are looking for
As a Learning Coach, you will be instrumental in fostering both the educational and personal growth of young people on our Year 12 structured study programme with a Level 1 vocational pathway. This role supports students within the Foundation Learning department and extends to other vocational areas across the college where required.
The successful candidate will have passion, drive, and enthusiasm to support and ensure their students receive the best possible education experience. You will have a proven track record in alternative education settings and a strong understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This role involves supporting high-quality education tailored to the unique needs of Foundation Learning students, within a supportive and inclusive learning environment. You will have experience in working with teams of support professionals to ensure every student is supported to achieve their academic milestones. Strong communication skills are a must, as is an ability to foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that promotes emotional well-being and academic success. In return, we will support you in a career that can offer opportunities, professional development, excitement, challenges, and a chance to learn and work with other talented individuals.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Youth and Community Work qualification or equivalent
HTLA qualification or equivalent.
Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
Maths and English minimum grade C/4 at level 2.
Relevant appropriate experience working in a youth related environment.
Previous experience of working with emotional regulation and with positive behaviour/de-escalation strategies.
Experience working with young people, particularly those with SEMH needs and EHCPs. In return you will benefit from an excellent package including:
