Embedded /Electronics Design Engineer


We are working with a company in Loughborough that develops electronics for a range of industries. They are looking for an Embedded / Electronics Design Engineer to join their team. Your focus would be 80% Embedded and 20% Electronics.


The work covers lots of new designs, and you'll see your design through to manufacture.


Role Overview


  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience of commercial electronics design and development.
  • Microcontroller development (ARM, PIC, etc) and embedded firmware development (C).
  • Design and development of electronic circuits (analog and digital).
  • Schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (Altium Designer or equivalent).
  • Understanding of anti-static (ESD) precautions.
  • Basic soldering ability (through-hole and simple SMT components)
  • Electronic laboratory equipment (Oscilloscope, Multimeter, etc.).


Essential Skills:


  • Embedded development using RTOS (e.g. FreeRTOS, Zepher OS, etc.)
  • Experience using nRF (Nordic Semiconductor) and/or STM32 Microcontrollers
  • Computer programming and/or scripting experience e.g., C#, Java, Python)
  • Experience using Altium Designer
  • Experience designing for EMC (Electromagnetic Compliance) and electric


Home working days.


Location: Loughborough


The salary guide is around £50,000, depending on experience.
