Essential: Sole charge experience supporting a child with Special Educational Needs. Experience supporting a child with behaviours that may challenge. Experience administering medication. Strong organisational skills. Confident swimmer. Availability to travel internationally with the family. *This role is open to male candidates only.
Start Date: ASAP
Days & Hours: Monday to Friday, 7am to 7pm.

About this client/child: Mattie (10), lives in a fully staffed household, with his Mum. He has a twin brother who attends boarding school Monday to Friday; his twin spends weekends and school holidays at home. Mattie gets on very well with his brother, and thoroughly enjoys spending time with him. Mattie loves swimming and swims daily in his pool at home. He enjoys music and singing, outings to the Zoo, to local parks and visiting new restaurants. He also enjoys spending time on his iPad and reading books. Mattie is verbal but prefers to communicate through typing. He does not like loud noises, noisy rooms, or lots of background noise, particularly if it is near him. Mattie can experience dysregulation and can present with behaviours that may challenge; He needs help and support to get through these periods. Mattie attends regular speech and language, occupational, and sensory integration therapies. He is home schooled, and he has tutors at home daily.
Overview of role: Mattie’s new SEN Manny, will support him from 7.00am with his morning routine. The family employ another Nanny, and the new SEN Manny will work in partnership with her. They also employ a chef, and the SEN Manny will liaise with them to organise menus based around Mattie’s favourite foods. Mattie has therapy sessions each morning, and his SEN Manny will take him there. Mattie can experience dysregulation and behaviours that may challenge during these sessions, and his SEN Manny will remain close by to help de-escalate these moments. Mattie responds very well to positive re-direction. After therapy, it’s back home for a family lunch, where updates are shared with his Mum. Mattie has academic studies in the afternoon, and the SEN Manny, will be on hand to support Mattie through any moments of dysregulation. Mattie is currently taking Abilify medication, twice daily, and the dosing can sometimes change, the SEN Manny will administer this medication, and keep clear, concise and accurate records. There will be times when Mattie’s twin is home, and the SEN Manny will take both boys out on a day trip. There is extensive worldwide travel in this role during school holidays, and at times the boys will stay with their father in his London, or countryside home.
Who this job would suit: This job will suit an SEN Manny (*male Nanny), with sole charge experience supporting a child with behaviours that may challenge. Someone who is professional, highly organised, with a chatty and playful nature - someone who genuinely enjoys working and engaging with children.
What’s great about this job: This is a fantastic, long-term role, with opportunities to work alongside SALT, OT and sensory integration therapists, and academic tutors who are all supporting Mattie in his ongoing learning and development.
