Sustainability Engineer
As the UK’s market and brand leader in showers, Triton continues to grow and is therefore looking for a Sustainability Engineer to join the Product Development Team at our Nuneaton offices.
This new position requires an enthusiastic individual who has a passion for sustainable engineering, is adaptable, able to innovate and likes to push boundaries.
Reporting to the Product Development Manager you will work closely with the Product Development Team and Product Management Team, to design and develop solutions that help accomplish Triton’s Sustainability Goals and NPD program.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and develop sustainable products and solutions that meet the needs of Triton, our customers and the environment.
* Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for improving the sustainability of our products and processes.
* Carry out validation testing and development of products
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into product design and development.
* Stay up to date with the latest trends and developments in sustainability and incorporate them into our product design and development processes.
* Ensure products are designed and developed to meet regulatory standards and performance levels specified for safety, function and reliability
* Produce full manufacturing specifications, including drawings and engineering BOM’s
* Ensure design solutions are within the financial and functional parameters
* Provide sustainability metrics to track and report on the environmental impact of a proposed solution.
* Perform any other duties appropriate to the role
Key skills essential:
* Demonstratable knowledge of creating sustainable design solutions or worked in a design for sustainability role.
* Experience in designing with plastic materials
* Experience of working in a Product Design capacity
* BTEC in Engineering
* Competent in using 3D CAD system (ideally SolidWorks)
* Competent in Microsoft packages
* Competent in producing technical reports
Key skills desirable:
* BTEC Higher Nationals in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
* Completed engineering apprenticeship
* Knowledge of machined brass components/tolerancing
* Knowledge of or worked in electrical consumer product sector
