Our client, a leading service provider in the Water and Wastewater Infrastructure sectors, is seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in delivering excellence in project management for water and wastewater mechanical engineering projects.
About the Role: As a Mechanical Project Manager, you'll be instrumental in leading and coordinating mechanical engineering projects within a multi-disciplinary team on a major water infrastructure framework. This long-term programme delivers a diverse range of design & construction projects (£100k - £4m) including the installation and replacement of mechanical equipment, pumping stations, treatment works, and associated civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage all aspects of mechanical engineering projects within the capital delivery works Programme
* Coordinate project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
* Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments
* Oversee the production of mechanical designs, specifications, and documentation
* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and quality procedures
* Contribute to internal and external project review and progress meetings
* Produce project reports and feasibility studies
* Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior staff
Requirements:
* Mechanical Engineering Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in a related discipline
* Proven experience in project management within the water/wastewater sector (desirable)
* Knowledge of mechanical systems in water treatment and distribution (desirable)
* Strong ability to liaise and engage with clients and key stakeholders
* Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
* Professional project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is advantageous
