Outreach tutor - Blandford Forum
Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements or those unable to attend mainstream school. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN Tutors, SEN Teachers, /HLTA's.
We are currently recruiting for KS4 Tutors all across Dorset.
Specifically, we need to provide provision to a Student based in Blandford Forum. Support in Math and English is required (KS4). This student has needs with social communication, sensory processing, ASC and is selective mute. Ideally you would have experience working with SEN students.
Location - Blandford Forum, Dorset
Position - 1:1 Tutor
Start date - 4th September
End date - Ongoing - likely up to the end of the academic year (July 2025).
Contract type - Temporary
Hours - 10 hours for this student, with the opportunity to work with other students in the area - we can be flexible with hours
Rate of pay - from £25 per hour for unqualifued tutors. Up to £35 per hour for Teachers with QTS
Term Time Only
During School Hours OnlyWe are looking for candidates who are:-
Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
Experience teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD
Exceptional behaviour management strategies.
Prepared to work face to face within the community or family home.Requirements
Background teaching in English, Maths or SEN classes KS4
QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects
Experience working with SEMH/ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
