Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Clipstone near Ollerton. Due to the nature of this role, we are looking for candidates who hold a full UK Drivers Licence.
As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.
From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.
The people we support at Clipstone live in a bungalow that requires 24-hour care plus a waking night. The individuals we support choose a range of activities they enjoy being involved in. Some typical examples are
* Local days out to popular parks and restaurants
* Going to the theatre/Cinema
* Day trips to different locations such as seaside, zoo’s, farms and lots more
* Film days
* Arts and Crafts
* Game Nights
* Baking
* Going to local Shops
* Going out for meals and seeing friends
* One lady likes to be reassured
* Music- Elvis
This service is a quiet service the people we support like the quiet life and not much hustle and bustle.
There is also a large garden which is made use of and also have BBQ’s regularly.
What we're looking for:
* A genuine passion for supporting others.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
* A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Drivers would be preferable as two people we support have her own personal vehicle.
Contract options:
* Full-time: 37.5 hrs
* Part-time: flexible hours based on availability
Shift times:
All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life
* Days: Between 07:00-22:00 AND
* Waking Nights: 22:00-07:00
