IT Systems Engineer

The ESPUG IT systems are an essential supporting service for the wider business that the Head of IT is responsible for delivering with the support of the IT Systems Engineer and IT Network Administrator. Core services are being moved to Microsoft’s Cloud alongside a Change programme of Digital Transformation implementing Microsoft Dynamics.

Role PurposenDeliver effective day to day operational IT services across the organisation alongside implementation of the IT strategy. This will involve a mixture of project delivery and managing 3rd parties to ensure delivery of an effective IT service to the business.

Support the Head of IT in ensuring the capacity and availability of the IT systems is maintained to enable ESPUG to continue to grow and operate gas, electricity and water networks.

Key ResponsibilitiesnResponsible for the procurement, deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, email provision, anti-virus software, print services and peripheralsnMaintaining cyber security, preventing internal and external attacksnSupporting and maintaining ESP’s Azure tenant, including Azure AD and Exchange Online, Intune & company portalnManaging all hardware/software assetsnManaging licences to ensure compliance of licencing contractsnWorking with third party vendors, suppliers and support partners currently deployed on IT projectsnProviding IT support, advice and training as needednImplementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices (including those for information security, data protection, disaster recovery, purchasing, and service provision)

TechnicalnPrevious experience of a hands-on generalist IT role in an SME environment, including.nManaging Windows ServersnProviding Office 365 Administration (covering Intune, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and Power Platform)nAzure platform management in a commercial environmentnScripting (Powershell)nDocumenting configuration and developing user support materialsnNetworking, IP schema and associated aspects
