The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join one of our Primary Schools in Tower Hamlets. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our students' educational and emotional needs, working closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the learning and development of students with SEMH needs.
Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to provide targeted interventions.
Help manage classroom behaviour and promote positive social interactions.
Collaborate with teachers to adapt and deliver engaging lessons.
Provide emotional and social support to students, fostering a positive school experience.
Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
Participate in professional development and training opportunities.Requirements:
Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs is essential.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Understanding of safeguarding procedures and a commitment to ensuring the welfare of all students.Desirable:
Experience in a primary school setting.
Knowledge of strategies and interventions for supporting SEMH needs.
First Aid training.
