Job Description
The role of a Gas Service Engineer  
To carry out the Service, Repair & commissioning of Gas appliances, heating systems & other related
· The gas engineer to attend all allocated service & breakdown calls on Daily activity worksheet and any further ad hoc jobs as directed by the gas admin team or gas operations manager during the working hours set out.
· The gas engineer to keep an up to date check on all van stock issued to them at the start of employment and replenish stock from stores the next working day where possible.
· The gas engineer must ensure they have all the correct tools and equipment to carry out the tasks assigned to them that day and inform gas supervisor if equipment is damaged or needs servicing/P.A.T testing
· The gas engineer must be able to manage their own time, be self-motivated, proactive and confident of working on their own initiative to ensure the task for the day are completed ensuring a 1st time fix.
· The gas engineer must be confident to carry out all types of Domestic gas testing and commissioning procedures to the relevant Manufacturers instructions and current gas regs.
· The gas engineer must be confident in identifying unsafe situations and able to complete any necessary make safe procedures to protect the residents, our clients , United Living and the general public along with the engineer themselves.
· Be able to complete all necessary gas certificates, commissioning documents, job sheets and be confident in the use of a PDA handheld device.
· Be contactable at all times during the working day and must update the admin team ensuring all relevant paperwork has been received and is in order.
· The gas engineer MUST participate in the out of hours call out Rota for any relevant emergency after hours service contracts as required.
· Additional overtime although not compulsory will be required to be carried out when asked by the Gas Ops manager or gas supervisor.
· The gas engineer must have a great customer relations approach and be able to give clear instruction, help and guidance when required to the residents regarding the use off the gas appliances, controls and how the systems work.
· The gas engineer must be able to deal with agitated residents, those residents who need that extra bit of care and attention and the engineer must be able to maintain a professional image at all times.
· The gas engineer will need to be able to mentor apprentices, assist in their training programs and give good relevant feedback to the gas ops manager on apprentice progression,
· The gas engineer must have a good understanding of Health & safety within the workplace and able to complete dynamic risk assessments, hot works permits and other relevant H7S documents as required.
· The engineer will be required to complete on online learning and other courses and must have good reading/ writing skills and be able to communicate clearly and concisely.
Qualifications
Gas Service Engineer required qualifications 
Minimum 1 year left on ACS Gas qualifications 
Must have CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, 
Recommended - HTR1, MET1, & HWSS (G3)
Additional Information
Working hours 7.30am Until 5pm Monday to Friday
1 hour lunch break
Full uniform & safety equipment supplied
