Workshop Team Leader Salary: £40,000 - £43,000 Location: Swanley, Kent Shift: Monday to Friday - Days We are seeking a Workshop Team Leader to oversee day-to-day operations within a busy materials handling workshop. Leading a small team of engineers, you will ensure efficient maintenance, service and repair of a variety of Material Handling Equipment (MHE), while upholding high standards of performance and safety. Key Responsibilities of the Workshop Team Leader: Lead, support and mentor workshop engineers to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality outputs Oversee reactive and planned maintenance activities across a range of MHE Conduct fault diagnosis and provide guidance on effective repair solutions Manage daily workload, prioritising tasks to minimise downtime Ensure accurate documentation and adherence to all health & safety procedures Key Requirements for Workshop Team Leader: Strong mechanical background in forklifts, automotive, plant or similar sectors Recognised mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent) Previous experience in a workshop-based role, ideally with leadership or mentoring responsibilities Confident communicator with excellent problem-solving skills Ideal Backgrounds: FLT or MHE engineering experience Automotive or vehicle mechanics Ex-Forces with mechanical and supervisory experience If you are interested in this role and feel that you have the right skills then please click apply at the bottom of this advert.
