Purpose of the Transport & Operations Manager Role:nOur client is looking for a dynamic, reactive, strategic Transport & Operations Manager to lead there transport department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that goods are delivered efficiently and on time, contributing significantly to the overall sales and service quality.
Main duties and responsibilities of the Transport & Operations Manager Role:nOversee a team of driver & logistics staff, ensuring a high level of performance and job satisfaction. Provide training, guidance, and support as needed.nCompleting analytical tasks to improve efficiencies and processes with will ultimately drive profitabilitynManage the in-house transport fleet, ensuring all vehicles are maintained, serviced, and compliant with all regulations.nWork closely with courier services and external logistic fleets to arrange and optimise delivery schedules.nContinuously assess and improve transportation strategies to reduce lead time, increase efficiency, and support sales growth.nEnsure that all transportation activities comply with legal and safety standards.nMonitor transportation costs and work on strategies to reduce expenses without compromising on service quality.nAddress and resolve any issues or delays in the transport process, implementing long-term solutions to recurrent problems.
Experience/knowledge requirements for the Transport & Operations Manager:nProven experience as a Transport Manager.nStrong leadership and team management skills.nExcellent Excel experience for manipulating data.nExcellent organisational and time-management abilities.nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.nKnowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements.nGood understanding of logistics and supply chain management.nProficiency in transportation management software and toos.nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.nStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
