About the role:
We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in challenging behaviours to join our dedicated team. If you’re passionate about making a real difference in the lives of students and enjoy fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we want to hear from you As an SEN TA, you will play a vital role in supporting our students who exhibit challenging behaviours, working to remove the barriers that often hinder their engagement in education. Your responsibilities will include assisting these students in successfully integrating into the classroom environment, supporting the teacher in planning and delivering tailored lessons, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation, and collaborating closely with parents and external professionals to provide holistic support. Additionally, you will encourage and facilitate an enjoyment of learning by creating engaging and inclusive activities while monitoring and assessing student progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
Application Requirements:
• A passion for working with children and a strong understanding of special educational needs, particularly regarding challenging behaviours.
• Previous experience in a similar role or educational setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students, parents, and staff.
• A proactive and flexible approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students with special educational needs.
• Foster a positive, supportive, and safe environment that encourages students to express themselves.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and behavioural challenges, communicating these with the teaching team.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance your skills and knowledge in special educational needs.
