As a Commercial Procurement Buyer, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing procurement to meet the company’s operational needs. You will play a key role in ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and efficiency, while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to identify and plan procurement activities
- Manage tender processes, including documentation, supplier negotiations, and relationship management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring they are accountable for meeting continuous improvement and productivity targets
- Monitor procurement progress and provide updates on active projects.
- Provide support to the team in managing processes, cross-functional training and risk management
- Generate management reports, information, and analytics for decision-making
Experience Required:
- Strong background in commercial and procurement frameworks, with proven process improvement skills
- Self-starter with expertise in Procurement and Category Management; knowledge of financial management is a plus
- Experience in building and managing key supplier relationships
- Ability to develop and implement comprehensive category strategies and strategic sourcing opportunities
- Strong negotiation skills and a history of delivering cost savings
- Proficient in supplier categorisation, performance management and the sourcing lifecycle
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with bid writing software is desirable
