Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer Location: London (Hybrid – 2–3 days onsite) Employment Type: Permanent / Contract Role Overview We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-optimized cloud solutions on the AWS platform. The role involves working closely with development, DevOps, and security teams to ensure high availability and performance across multi-cloud and hybrid environments. Key Responsibilities Design & Deploy AWS Solutions: Architect and implement AWS infrastructure using best practices for scalability, security, and resilience. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and maintain IaC using Terraform or CloudFormation . Automation & CI/CD: Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments. Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Implement observability solutions (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk) and resolve incidents promptly. Security & Compliance: Apply AWS security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation. Cost Optimization: Monitor and optimize AWS resource usage for cost efficiency. Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams on deployments, migrations, and performance tuning. Essential Skills & Experience Proven experience managing AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, Lambda, IAM). Strong knowledge of Linux administration . Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation . Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash). Understanding of cloud networking and security fundamentals . Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, AWS CodePipeline). Desirable Skills Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS). Familiarity with data platforms (Redshift, Snowflake). Exposure to streaming technologies (Kafka, Apache Flink). Knowledge of ETL environments and data migration . AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, SysOps, DevOps Engineer). Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar certification preferred.
