Governance Administrator - Headquarters Salary: *GBP*25,989 - *GBP*27,254 per annumBasis: Full timePackage: 37 hours per week, Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), Holiday allowance of 25 days plus public holidays on joining.Contractual Hours: 37Region: CentralJob Category: Administration Job Description: INTERNAL ONLY Hours: 37 per week (9.00 am to 5 pm Monday-Thursday, 9.00 am to 4.30 pm Friday) The Democratic Services and Governance Team are a small team who provide advice and support to Fire Authority Members, Principal Officers and other employees to ensure corporate regulatory requirements are followed in accordance with internal procedures, relevant legislation and the Fire Authority Constitution.  This role primarily supports the Governance function of the team by processing standard requests through the Governance ticketing system, liaising with senior staff, external organisations and members of the public.  It will provide robust administrative support in a range of areas including but not limited to Freedom of Information Requests, Subject Access Requests and other governance processes.  Confidentiality must be maintained at all times in a busy and demanding environment.   The role is also the initial face of the Service being located on Reception.  A high level of customer service when greeting visitors to Reception and when taking telephone calls is required with an ability to converse at ease with members of the public and to provide advice as required.  You will have: An understanding of the legislation and regulations relating to data including Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). In-depth experience of using Microsoft 365 applications, in particular, Word, Outlook, MS Teams, Powerpoint and Excel. Ability to adapt and be flexible whilst managing multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision, prioritising workloads to meet strict deadlines. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to effectively both verbally and in writing with the ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English.
