Our client in Glasgow is an international structural engineering firm, and one of the leaders in the UK for structural steelwork. They have divisions in multiple countries with an impressive portfolio of structures and projects they have completed. Currently looking for a Steel Structural Detailer to join them on a full-time staff basis.
Employee development and internal progression is especially important to this client, with multiple opportunities to learn and develop skills as well as support with accreditation or qualification if required to progress.
The purpose of this role is to model detailing and production of fabrication drawings by Interpreting and processing information for structural steel detailing. This will involve producing 3D models of Steel structures based in information from the client.
Main Responsibilities:
* To produce and check the models and drawings given by Industrial field class, fabrication drawings and marking plans.
* To produce General Arrangement (GA) drawings, from architects/engineers drawings.
* Ordering preliminary materials and be responsible for raising RFI’s (Request for Information) directly to a client and gathering information needed to coordinate details for production.
* To liaise with the design team, consultant engineers, architects and other internal department to coordinate projects.
Requirements:
* Previous experience using Tekla (preferred) and CAD (essential)
* Advanced knowledge of Tekla firm folders / settings (preferred).
* A working knowledge of BIM (preferred)
* Proficiency with Excel and Word
* Strong communication skills
Working Hours:
Mon – Thurs 08.15 – 17.00
Fri 08.15 – 15.00
Hybrid Split 3/2 Available
Salary: up to £50k
