Thrive Homes presents an appealing opportunity for a Procurement, Assurance & Risk Lead. This role primarily involves spearheading procurement activities while also leading insurance and risk management. The incumbent will be tasked with remaining abreast of evolving risk management practices and evaluating potential risks or advantages for Thrive. The position entails overseeing the relationship with Thrive’s insurance broker and insurer, as well as monitoring and managing their performance. Furthermore, the role encompasses leading negotiations for the annual insurance renewal.

The Lead will also supervise all procurement and associated contract management activities in alignment with Thrive’s Strategic Framework and operational objectives. Additionally, the Lead will offer guidance and counsel to the business and ensure adherence to pertinent legislation and regulation.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Drive value through effective procurement in line with legislation.
  • With support from our Procurement Officer ensure Thrive has a 3-year procurement delivery plan – working with Business Leads and Senior Managers to ensure the impact on resources is understood and mitigated where possible.
  • Procure for Thrive a comprehensive portfolio of insurance cover at the best price.
  • Analyse claims to identify opportunities, threats, and trends and ensure the business understands and responds to these.
  • Support, educate, and influence the business on early reporting of areas that could give rise to a claim, making changes to insurance policies and claims management and mitigation.
  • With the support of the Procurement Officer maintain Thrives’ Contracts Register – ensuring electronic and or hard copies of contracts are kept filed as appropriate.
  • Take accountability for holding regular business partner meetings with your key stakeholders, embedding a contract management framework and holding colleagues to account.
  • With the support of the Procurement Officer, ensure all general insurance queries and advice on matters of best practice and compliance are dealt with effectively and efficiently.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to continually improve our risk management practices and work with stakeholders to reduce risks.
  • Keep up to date with changes in risk management practices and evaluate the potential risks or benefits to Thrive.
  • Embed a risk awareness culture through engagement with senior leaders

Requirements:

  • Substantial experience working within a procurement position.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance and risk management is required.
  • Knowledge of the Procurement Act 2023.
  • Working experience within a public sector setting would be highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively engage with and influence stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
