gap personnel Bristol are operating as an employment business and currently looking to recruit a Stock Controller & Traceability Coordinator for our client based in Brentry, Bristol BS10.
To work with all areas of production to ensure accurate and efficient stock control including ‘right first time’ posting of works orders. Act as ‘traceability champion’ by working with shop-floor staff and management to improve processes with the aim being that the business understands precisely what stock it has and how it got there. Ensure that, where appropriate, suppliers, Procurement and Technical are contributing to the goal described above.
Job Responsibilities:
* Take responsibility for your own health and safety by acting in a measured and considered way and always keeping your own H&S and that of those around you at the forefront of your thoughts.
* Understand the risks associated with the area within which you work and the equipment that you work with. Understand how to mitigate these risks.
* Support the site leadership team in efforts to improve site safety by highlighting areas for improvement.
* You must ensure FIFO and batch control is in place and adhered to at all times
* You must ensure processes, procedures, methods and recipes are followed and there is accurate recording (both paperwork and digitally) of food manufacturing
* You must ensure the company Chilli IT system and any other systems used for reporting are kept up to date and accurate to reflect performance and aid in traceability
* BRC Certification is critical to the position of the business. There are significant elements of the audit that centre on the activities of the manufacturing team. You will need to work effectively and efficiently with the rest of the site team to ensure that the needs of the BRC standard are met and exceeded.
* Where there are gaps in our procedures you are aware of you must raise these to the technical team and ensure gaps are addressed
* Where non-conformances are raised due to failure to comply with procedure (note the use of PUNCS system) you must endeavour to close these actions in a timely manner and where required conduct RCA’s with colleagues to avoid reoccurrence
Additional responsibility
he quality of our clients ingredients means that the value of the foods we use far(1)outweigh any of our other costs. The work that you do, influence and support has a material impact on our ability to manage costs including waste. Key areas of concern include:
* Data integrity - posting of LR cooking, Gluten Free, Pastry and Beef.
* Analysis of errors within production & proposing solutions to ensure accuracy & efficiency
* Compliance with FIFO stock rotation and recipe adherence
* Compliance to yield standards – at least as far as accurate inputs are concerned.
* Monitoring and daily reporting of WIP stocks to support fulfilment objectives as well as minimising waste.
The Candidate:
* You will play a key role in the bi-monthly stock take, supporting the site leadership in efforts continuously improve the processes as well as implementing actions to avoid discrepancies being created o Weekend attendance may be required in-order to meet the above requirement and you will receive time-in-lieu in that case.
* You will play a key role in any project relating to product traceability or stock management.
* Specifically, at time of appointment, senior management have concerns that the barcode scanning project known as, ‘Project Popeye’ may have faltered in the sense that the scanning system does not seem to be sufficient to ensure accurate records. Part of your role will be to critically assess the status of Project Popeye including what elements are working well and where shortcomings exist. You will then work with senior management to devise a plan to remedy the issues and then support more-effective implementation.
* Effective communication is key to everything we do. You are thus expected to:
* Liaise with internal and external contacts using appropriate methods and frequency (virtual, telephone, face to face)
* Attend twice daily operational meetings where performance and any issues around delivery and capacity are discussed.
* Work closely with the site senior team to develop the improvement initiatives that will form the workplan for the site.
* Inspire and encourage colleagues and team members to buy in to continuous improvement concepts and revised ways of working.
