About the School:
The school is an Ofsted rated 'Good ' primary school in the Alton area. They are looking for a Learning Support Assistant to start in September, on a part-time basis with the possibility of becoming a permanent role.
Job Description:
The Support Staff role at encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities aimed at supporting both students and teachers. You will actively engage in the learning process by collaborating closely with teaching staff to assist in planning and delivering lessons across various subjects. Your role will involve providing personalised support to students, which could include 1:1 work for children with additional needs, to give them the guidance necessary for their academic progress.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantee a safe and secure environment both on school premises and during extracurricular activities.
- Execute school policies as specified in official documents and as instructed by the Headteacher.
- Positively represent the school within the wider community.
- Keep sensitive information confidential as encountered during your duties.
- Comply with the school's Equal Opportunities policy.
- Follow the school's Health and Safety policy, ensuring proper procedures are adhered to during accidents or incidents.
- Oversee and manage student behaviour throughout the school day, including during lunch and breaks (or as your schedule permits), in line with school policies and individual behaviour management plans.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as an LSA or in a similar role within an educational setting is desirable.
- A passion for education and supporting students' academic and personal development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
- Experience with SEN children is an asset
Qualifications:
- Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance or Education are advantageous but not essential.
