Speech and Language Teaching Assistant (Primary Aged Pupils)
Location: Swale
Full-time: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm
£83.33 per day
Are you passionate about supporting young children in overcoming communication barriers? Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and caring Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to work with primary-aged pupils in Swale, helping them develop essential speech and language skills.
About the Role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a real difference in the lives of children who face challenges with speech and language development. As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in providing targeted support to young learners, helping them build communication skills and boosting their confidence in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to primary-aged pupils with speech and language difficulties, both in one-on-one and small group settings.
Assist in delivering specialised learning strategies and speech therapy exercises under the guidance of speech and language therapists and SEN coordinators.
Help students with communication skills, such as listening, understanding, speaking, and social interaction.
Work closely with class teachers, SEN staff, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and track students' progress.
Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages pupils to engage and succeed academically and socially.What We're Looking For:
Experience working with children, particularly those with speech and language needs
A passion for supporting young children and helping them overcome communication barriers.
Strong communication skills, patience, and a compassionate approach to working with pupils facing speech and language difficulties.
A collaborative mindset, able to work well with teachers and other professionals to ensure effective support for students.
An interest in gaining hands-on experience in a school setting, particularly in the areas of special educational needs (SEN) and speech and language development.Why Join Us?
